Abstrak

Tingginya angka kesakitan dan kematian akibat infeksi malaria
menjadikannya sebagai masalah kesehatan global. Patogenesis dan patofisiologi
malaria serebral belum difahami secara menyeluruh. Penggunaan mencit model
malaria serebral menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk memahami patogenesis dan
patofisiologisnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan mencit swiss
dan mencit C57BL/6 yang diinokulasi P.berghei ANKA sebagai model mencit
malaria serebral. Metode : Rancangan penelitian randomized post test control only
group designmenggunakan 12 mencit swiss dan 12 mencit C57BL/6 yang terbagi
masing-masing menjadi 2 kelompok : kelompok perlakuan yang diinokulasi
P.berghei ANKA dan kelompok kontrol tanpa inokulasi. Pengamatan manifestasi
klinis dan level parasitemia dilakukan mulai dari hari ke 1 - hari ke -10. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok K2 menunjukkan kenaikan derajat
parasitemia yang signifikan dibandingkan K4. Kelompok K4 menunjukkan adanya manifestasi klinis malaria serebral sedangkan K2 tidak menunjukkan manifestasi
klinis malaria serebral. Kesimpulan: Mencit C57BL/6 yang diinokulasi PbA dapat
dijadikan hewan model malaria serebral..
