Risk factors are similar to other thromboembolic <br>diseases and include hypertension, smoking, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, <br>hypercoagulability, and male gender. All therapy for central retinal artery occlusion <br>aims to restore perfusion or oxygenation of the retina.
